Paranormal Convention October 2-3, 2021 Las Cruces Convention Center
Check out this haunting video!
Described by some as the most haunted building in Las Cruces, NM, the old courthouse and jail is an extremely active place. Numerous paranormal investigators have been in the building recording evidence of paranormal activity.
Videos of a shadow figure roaming the hallways of the jail have been captured. Voices of men, women and a small child have also been recorded. People have been touched and footsteps have been heard throughout. Some individuals have experienced great emotional feelings when walking though the different floors.
A well-known paranormal TV show, The Ghost Adventures, came to Las Cruces in early 2017 and filmed at the location. They, too, saw and experienced the shadow man in the jail.
Built in 1936-1937, the old Dona Ana County Courthouse and Jail in Las Cruces, NM was a Works Progress Administration Project by President Roosevelt. The building is constructed of cement and is as sound today as when they built it.
The 36,000 square foot building has three stories and housed the Dona Ana County offices until 2008 when the County moved business to the newly constructed facility on Motel Blvd.
The jail addition located on the first floor was built in 1969 and served as the Dona Ana County Detention Center until 1996 when the detention center re-located to a new facility on Copper Loop. The old court house has a beautiful Southwestern style about it. Wooden beams run along the ceilings and beautiful Spanish tile still lay on the floors.
Southwest Expeditions and Out West Paranormal Investigators conduct Haunted Tours in the building and allow the public to book their very own paranormal investigations.
Guests are given the equipment used by the professionals and are given two hours to go through every floor and the jail to capture their own evidence and make up their own minds about the paranormal.
